Investigating of wind turbines affects on recloser operation in distribution networks

Wind turbines are normally installed on distribution networks and reclosers are one of the main parts of that. Recloser operations are well known in traditional network, but they need more investigations when wind turbines are connected on the other side of the recloser. Existences of wind turbines produce mal-functions of reclosers. In this paper, the affects of the wind turbines on operations of reclosers will be investigated and by simulation results the main problems will be shown. Also, the suitable time and current settings for reclosers will be proposed.
