Abstract
An overview of existing power loss reduction calculation methods, varying in complexity and accuracy, is undertaken. Their strengths and weaknesses are compared. Additionally, an improvement is suggested as the negative correlation between wind generation and system load is underscored. A case study is performed to determine the performance of the suggested improvement. Results showed that considering the relationship between instantaneous wind generation and system load improved accuracy significantly, concluding that the factor is not negligible.
