Abstract :
A novel four-stator double-sided linear induction motor for Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch was designed in this paper. The electromagnetic model for this novel motor was proposed, and the coupling characteristics of inductive loop on shuttle inducted by upper and lower stators, and the coupling characteristics of adjacent windings of upper and lower stator-ends were analyzed in detail. And an advanced equivalent coupling circuit model was built for the novel linear induction motor. Based on the equivalent circuit model, the coupling characteristics of relevant physical quantities of upper and lower stators and upper and lower equivalent windings of shuttle were analyzed. Furthermore, the relationships between the coupling characteristics and motor operation conditions were derived, and the operation conditions for mathematical decoupling of relevant physical quantities of shuttle upper and lower equivalent windings were studied. Finally, the experiment results verify the validity and superiority of the proposed design and analysis methods.
