Abstract :
In this paper, a finite-state Markov channel model representing Rayleigh fading channels is introduced. A methodology of selecting signal-to-noise thresholds and the total number of states is discussed based on the analysis of the steady-state probability. And the transition probabilities between states and error probabilities are calculated with the given fading characteristic parameters such as level crossing rate. The validity and accuracy of the model are confirmed by simulations
