Abstract
The paralleled current source converter (CSC) fed motor drives are attractive in the high power applications because they not only offer the merits of CSC but also may provide the multilevel current waveforms for the THD reduction. The purpose of this paper is to propose an active damping method to suppress the LC resonance which would be excited in such large paralleled CSC fed motor drives. The key is to adopt the interleaved operation for the paralleled converters, and apply the virtual resistor based active damping method for the LC filters by tuning the switching angles dynamically. The simulation on a 2.4 MW paralleled CSC fed PMSM drive is given to verify the validity.
