Abstract
An adaptive algorithm for decode-and-forward cooperative diversity with multiple-antenna terminals is proposed in this paper on the basis of analysis of the bit error rate performance of cooperative MIMO system. The adaptive algorithm adopts direct transmission or cooperative transmission according to the instantaneous channel state information of each link to avoid unnecessary cooperation and improve the system performance further. Theory analysis and simulation results show that compared to traditional decode-and-forward cooperative diversity, the adaptive algorithm can save much energy and channel resource, and improve the outage performance as well.
