Abstract :
The optical fibre sensor employed to monitor the acoustic emissions utilizes laser speckle produced by multi-mode optical fibres, a technique known as fibredyne interferometry. This contribution will describe the optical sensing system and the experiments undertaken on a 145 kV SF6 puffer circuit breaker test bed, and will provide some preliminary analysis of these results
