Abstract
A 6-18 GHz delay line is proposed in this paper. The challenges of delay line design are analyzed and resolved. Based on this, the paper proposes a 6-18 GHz 5-bit delay line by multilayer microwave printed circuit board technology. The measured results show that the delay line has the time delay precision of less than ±6 ps, time delay increment of 0.1 ns and over delay time of 3.1 ns. Small variations of the insertion loss when switching delay time are also demonstrated.
