Abstract :
Low-frequency measurement applications where low power, high dynamic range and high linearity are important naturally migrate toward oversampling converters. Measuring seismic activity is one such application that requires at least 120 dB S/D. The switched-capacitor delta-sigma modulator presented in this paper achieves the above goals with single-ended linearity in excess of 120 dB. Various distortion mechanisms in switched-capacitor topologies are explained along with solutions.<>
