Abstract :
The discovery of high temperature superconducting materials raises the possibility of new types of hybrid superconductor-semiconductor circuits at liquid nitrogen temperatures. We describe one such novel wideband amplification technique utilizing dual transistors from high-T/sub c/ superconductor and CMOS technologies. This "dual-transistor" amplification technique can remove the gain-bandwidth bottleneck in optoelectronic receivers, low-voltage digital transmission circuits, and other communication circuits. It can also be used for high-bandwidth interfaces between high-speed superconducting logic circuits and high-density semiconductor memories in hybrid systems.<>
