Abstract
The alternating-direction implicit-finite-difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) method is unconditionally stable. The method should solve systems of linear equations in calculating electric field components of 2-D ADI-FDTD. For the coefficient matrixes of the systems are 3- diagonal strip matrixes, this paper adopts LU decomposition method to solve the systems. The efficiency can be improved above 50%. And the validity and rapidity are verified through an example of 2-D TM wave propagating in vacuum.
