Abstract :
This work presents a novel technique for developing a near-optimal on-line real-time PWM-SHE switching pattern in which the piece-wise linearization of a fully optimal PWM-SHE switching strategy is applied. As investigated in this paper, this new linearization technique is applicable not only to PWM-SHE switching, but also to other optimal modulation strategies in general. Implementation of the optimal PWM-SHE switching pattern to VSI have brought the switching losses substantially down.
