Abstract
In this paper analysis and hysteretic controller design of a 3rd order step-down buck converter is presented. Various small-signal models valid up-to half of the switching frequencies, using state-space averaging method, are developed and then step-by-step controller design procedure is described. The results of controller design and closed-loop analysis are illustrated through computer simulations. To validate the controller design and analysis, simulation observations are provided for a 50 W 24/15 V point of load application.
