  • Abstract
Power system modeling and simulation has a close relationship with computer technology, and the advances of computer technology are impacting many areas of power systems. In this paper, the authors describe computer technologies applied in power system simulators implemented by the Electrical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, including a graphical user interface, database, real-time, multimedia and networking, etc. It emphasizes Unix real-time functions and real-time database techniques. The authors describe the requirements and configurations of a typical power system simulator and several specific simulators
