  • Abstract
    Based on IEEE1451 standards and Controller Area Network (CAN), an opening and "plug and play" traffic intersection intelligent monitoring system is integrate researched in order to solve interface compatible and interoperable issues among urban traffic monitoring equipments. With IEEE 1451.2 and IEEE 1451.4 standard interface, Smart Transducer Interface Module (STIM), Transducer-Independent Interface (TII) interface circuit and Transducer Electronic Data Sheets (TEDS) program design are carried out and realized. Meanwhile, the Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) is designed based on CAN technology. Besides these, communication applications for road-level monitoring system are developed. The experimental results show that the system is stable, real-time and reliable.
