Abstract :
A digital library (DL) can be defined as a combination of a database and a multimedia interface. This paper discusses the fundamental aspect of such combination, that is, a formal structure to link an object oriented database with hypermedia to support digital libraries. The importance of such research is that it provides a formalized data structure to define digital library system structure and a practical way to manage application schemata of a digital library system
