Abstract :
Applications in 3G, WLAN and Bluetooth are actually the largest area in wireless communications, especially for antenna designers. Due to that, in this paper a broadband planar antenna based on the classic Yagi-Uda dipole antenna and projected to the range of frequencies that includes 1.8 GHz, 1.9 GHz, and 2.45 GHz is presented. This "tilted dipole, quasi-Yagi antenna" achieves a measured 41% bandwidth for VSWR<2 a directivity of 5.5 dBi and an efficiency of 70-85%. In addition, a comparison between this antenna and a classical quasi-Yagi is done. The agreements between simulated and measured results for return loss are satisfactory.
