Abstract
A method of synthesizing drive systems, including DC motors, synchronous and asynchronous AC motors, and step motor drive systems, is discussed. These systems exhibit instantaneous responses to input commands and infinite disturbance rejection ratios to load torque changes. The synthesis method, implementation of the control algorithms, and performance results from verification tests of the algorithms are presented. It is shown that, in addition to providing for the ideal control system properties, infinite disturbance rejection ratio and zero order dynamics, the synthesis method provides robustness with respect to the system moment of inertia and is independent of the nonlinear torque-producing mechanisms.<>
