Abstract :
This paper presents a simple phenomenological model for calculating the dynamic resistance of a nanosecond gas-filled spark-gap. Results provided by the model are shown to compare well with a range of data previously reported in the literature. This both validates the model and gives confidence in its ability to predict accurately the resistance of a wide range of spark gaps for similar applications but with parameters different from those studied experimentally.
