Abstract :
In this paper the performance of complete digital TDMA 16-QAM coherent demodulators operating over mobile cellular radio channels, is considered. The preamble-less feedforward non-decision-aided (NDA) synchronisation techniques employed to overcome Rayleigh channel impairments, are described. A new technique for amplitude gain control is presented. The performance of the systems has been evaluated by computer simulation over AWGN and Rayleigh faded channels, and compared for various estimation periods of the carrier phase and gain error
