  • Abstract
    In this paper, we propose a novel motion compensation (MC) algorithm. Compared with previous MC algorithm using only one interpolation method, the proposed MC algorithm chooses different interpolation methods according to the calculated sum of absolute difference (SAD) in the process of motion estimation (ME). The proposed MC algorithm can improve the quality of the interpolated frames. Based on the SAD calculated in ME, interpolation method is divided into three cases. Then in order to demonstrate the performance of the proposed MC algorithm, we propose a new test algorithm, which compares the results of several MCs. Experimental results indicate that, compared with common MC algorithm and the linear MC algorithm, quality of the image using proposed MC algorithm has been improved.
