Abstract :
This paper covers the approaches to and the challenges of electrical installations for hazardous (classified) locations in petroleum and chemical plants in the USA and in Europe. Contrasts and comparisons of the division and zone methods of classification and installation, as well as IEC and NEC wiring methods were made.
