Abstract
We describe techniques to identify data records that have unique or novel field value combinations. These techniques allow the rapid identification of unique records in data sets without a priori knowledge of field values or field-value ranges. This results in the formulation and creation of new knowledge about the data, based on information that is not evident and is not otherwise easily obtained.
