Abstract
The finite difference method is used to determine the magnetic field and the power distributions in a homogeneous, linear magnetic, rectangular workpiece subject to uniform surface magnetic field. The results are given in a general form suitable for more than one case and show the distributions of the field and power in the load. The rapid variation of three quantities at specific points in the load is pointed out.<>
