Abstract
This paper describes a comparative study of micro strip patch antenna using line feed & coaxial feed by the optimization of the resonant frequency & radiation resistance of the antenna along with different other antenna parameters. Though the resonant frequency optimization processes of the micro strip patch using line feed & coaxial feed are same, but there is huge difference in radiation resistance optimization. Genetic Algorithms have been applied as optimization technique of the parameters of the micro strip patch antenna. Values of antenna parameters viz. return loss, bandwidth with both types of feeding for a frequency range 3-17 GHz are presented and simulated results of IE3D are presented.
