Abstract :
The interference rejection capability of an antenna array at base station of a CDMA communications system results in improvement in the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). In general, this figure of merit depends strongly on the array configuration and is a function of the direction of arrival of the desired signal, the number of antenna elements, and their spacing. In this paper, we consider a uniform circular antenna array used for smart antenna systems and study the effect of varying the number of elements and its inter-element spacing on the SIR performance.
