Abstract :
As a basic and pillar industry, coal is our country´s most important base energy sources, and taking an important part in the development of national economy. However, extensive growth mode of coal industry brings a series of problems, such as lower coal industry concentration ratio, lower scale structure efficiency, the problem of safety, lagging technology and irrational structure, which counteracts sustainable development of coal industry. This paper builds index system of coal industry sustainable development efficiency assessment firstly; secondly, data envelopment analysis (DEA) is introduced to appraise effectiveness of coal industrial sustainable development according to statistic data in 2007. The result shows that these areas, such as Shan Xi, Inner Mongolia and Shan Dong are DEA effective, Liao Ning, Hei Longjiang and An Hui are technical effective, and others are DEA ineffective. According to assessment result, the problem of coal industrial organizational structure is discussed and some suggestions are put forward.
