Abstract :
In recent years, the world energy market has changed significantly. Especially, the demand of the oil has been increasing day by day. The natural gas was only the accessory of the crude since its discovery. Some expertise predicts that natural gas will be the first energy in the future. As one of the most potential future energy, natural gas will play an increasingly important role during the country´s economic development. Experience in developed countries shows that the government plays very important role in the development of natural gas industry. The governmental regulation on natural gas industry is very significant to its favorable and health development. Along with the unceasing development of China´s natural gas industry, the government´s regulation model characterized by planning has not accommodated to the need of new phase. Releasing the regulation of government step by step or changing the government´s function in the development of natural gas industry has become very necessary. The government must perform right function to regulate natural gas industry in the public interest as well as concern economic well-being.
