  • Abstract
    I will review the physics and performance characteristics of parametric devices, such as amplifiers, frequency convertors and phase conjugators, which are based on four-wave mixing in fibers. I will also describe some recent applications of these devices, such as tunable radiation generation, phase-sensitive amplification, buffering by frequency conversion and dispersion, and real-time sampling.
