Abstract
An optimal probabilistic decision method is described for symbol detection in DS/SS indoor communications in the presence of uncertain time delay caused by the receiver´s movement and multipath fading. A radial basis function network is introduced to implement the joint PN synchronization and optimal symbol decision together with the estimation of the channel coefficients. The improved performance is demonstrated by computer simulation results and the comparison with the Rake diversity reception is given
