  • Abstract
    As an important index of radar, the range resolution is mainly limited by bandwidth of radar system. In this paper, a new method of improving radar range resolution is proposed based on waveform characteristic identification techniques. The results of data simulation and real test of flight show that the range resolution can be improved markedly with the proposed new method, and for the radar with 2 MHz bandwidth, its range resolution can reach about 80 m, which is twice as much as that using the conventional method
