Abstract
A theoretical and experimental study into a microwave level gauging system incorporating a Goubau guide as the transmission medium is performed. Merits of the effective wave launching and the sensitivity of the system are discussed. Experimental tests show that the investigated system is capable of efficiently detecting the level of high and low reflectivity liquids
