Abstract :
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a 6.5 m diameter, deployable telescope that will be placed at 1.5 mln km fom Earth possibly in 2016. The Canadian contribution to the mission is the Fine Guidance Sensor (FGS). It also incorporates a flexible narrow spectral band imaging capability provided by the Tunable Filter Imager (TFI) instrument. The FGS program is currently in the assembly, integration, and test phase of the flight unit.
