Abstract :
The paper discusses the teletraffic performance of cellular topologies employing dynamic cell sectoring and beam steering. Results are compared with those obtained when omni-directional antenna patterns are used in base stations. The simulation scenario assumes a TDMA mobile radio system employing dynamic channel assignment. Simulation results show that the performance of a dynamic cell sectoring is better than an omni-directional base station system. The C/I distribution at a mobile for different antenna minimum 3-dB beamwidth, direction of arrival error, the effect of beam updating time and power control constitute the aspects studied
