Abstract :
In applications of telephony in voice-over-IP, the delays associated with the line echoes vary significantly from call to call. Conventional line echo cancellers configured with a fixed bulk-delay yield poor performance under such conditions. This paper gives a detailed account of the implementation and evaluation of the automatic echo ranging (AER) algorithm used for bulk-delay estimation as well as its robustness and systems related issues
