Frontier Research on Pervasive Emotion Computing

Emotions, experiencing for example disappointment,anger or joy, result in action tendency. Appropriate and timely reactions to emotions harmonize people´s welfare by broadening positive emotions and damping negative emotions in everyday life. In this paper, we generalize ubiquitous emotion harmonization into a novel concept of pervasive emotion computing. We first overview related work in social sciences and in computer science. We conceptualize pervasive emotion computing with research objectives and hypotheses. Moreover, we suggest a pervasive emotion computing prototype and models for emotion cognition and emotion harmonization.
