A hybrid power supply topology is proposed for large particle accelerators/colliders. This topology combines the One-Cycle Controlled switching converter and the phase-controlled thyristor converter and it is suitable for two quadrant (rectifier and inverter) applications that require low ripple, high current, large dynamic range
