  • Abstract
In order to overcome the defects of low conductor availability ratio and high harmonic contents of the general Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (BDFIG), the Doubly-sine Wound-rotor Brushless Doubly-Fed Generator (DWBDFG) is designed. In this paper, the rotor winding (RW) design method, including the winding tooth harmonic theory and the doubly-sine winding theory are introduced, and a finite element electromagnetic-thermal model of a 64kW DWBDFG is established to analysis the temperature of the generator in the different steady operation conditions. Finally, the experimental results of the 64kW DWBDFG prototype, which is used as a marine generator, confirmed the analysis consequence and validated the feasibility of the design principle by its actual performance.
