            Abstract :
Compared with the traditional single rotor motor, the dual-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has a higher torque density due to the existence of two working air-gaps. As there are slots on the inside and outside surfaces of stator core, two sets of three-phase winding can be installed, which can be driven in series or parallel. This will result in the different torque performances of dual-rotor PMSM under open-circuit fault conditions, so they are investigated in this paper. Then, the current control strategy is applied to adjust the open-circuit fault, based on the instantaneous power balance theory. The investigations are verified by finite analysis results.
