Abstract
Compared with the Tooth Layer Specific Permeability (TLSP) method being mainly adopted so far to calculate the electromagnetic torque of stepping motors, a new method is proposed in this paper, which is called the Tooth Layer Calculated Torque (TLCT) method. The concept of TLCT is defined firstly and its correctness when used to calculate the electromagnetic torque is proved theoretically at the same time. Then how to use the TLCT method in calculating the electromagnetic torque in stepping motors is described. At last, a comparative research among the TLSP method, the TLCT one and the finite element one (FEM) is performed, with the fact that, the TLCT method features simplified calculation and high accuracy compared with the former method.
