Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative study through simulations of two different controllers for generation of PWM pulses for an Active Power filter namely Hysteresis Current Control and State Vector Pulse Width Modulation. A synchronous reference frame based controller for three phase three wire voltage source active power filter has been selected for the study. Constant capacitor voltage technique is adopted here and reference current estimation has been carried out in synchronous reference frame. The APF is found effective to meet IEEE 519 standard recommendations on harmonic levels.
