Abstract :
This paper makes comprehensive investigation on the skew effect on the demagnetization of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). During the processing of the short-circuit fault, each segment of the permanent magnets (PMs) due to the skewed-angle has a different demagnetizing situation in the axial direction. This paper uses 3-dimensional (3D) finite element analysis (FEA) model to verify relevant theoretical study.
