  • Abstract
Techniques to model geometrically tiny features such as thin wires, narrow slots and air-vents in an otherwise large three-dimensional space are presented. The modelling is achieved by introducing appropriate compact models into the TLM time-domain method. Such models allow for accurate EMC simulation of complex devices, containing these geometrically small but electrically important features, while offering huge savings in computer resource requirements. Accuracy and efficiency of the presented compact models, based on comparison with experimental results and extremely fine TLM mesh results are presented in the paper.
