Abstract :
This paper analyses and evaluates different aspects of the sign-change-ratio(SCR) criterion, which is an effective stopping criterion in bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID). The SCR criterion is simulated with different conditions including modulation method, mapping method, interleave length and decoding method. The evaluation is based on the bit error rate (BER) performance and the average number of iterations which corresponds to the computational complexity. By considering the simulation results, we can find out the optimized working condition of the SCR criterion for BICM-ID over Rayleigh fading channel.
