Abstract :
Here we report on a new pump scheme which allows for the first time high capacity transmission in the C and L band over unrepeatered distances >200 km. A total capacity of 3.2 Tb/s (80×42.5 Gb/s) over the unrepeatered C+L band transmission distance of 220 km PSCF was achieved. We identified the OSNR as the critical impairment in the experiment and discussed further possibilities for system performance enhancement.
