  • Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the influence of mechanical parameters, such as the dimensions of air-gap, stack length, stator and rotor slots as well as the number of rotor slots, on the induction motor efficiency. Two Chinese standard induction motors (22kW/Y2-180L-4 and 22kW/Y-180L-4) are comparatively studied with finite element analysis (FEA). Based on the results, the efficiency of the induction motor is improved by optimizing the mechanical parameters. The analysis results can be beneficial for future design of high-efficiency induction motors.
