Abstract :
Although perfectly matching the needs of geometric modeling and CNC machining, feature-based parametric models still can hardly meet the requirements of data extraction and mesh generation process in finite-element preprocessing. In this study, we take the requirements of finite-element preprocessing as well as geometric representation into the consideration of parametric design process and propose analysis-oriented parametric modeling technology. Based on the modeling technology proposed, a system structure of analysis-oriented parametric modeling process is devised. Eventually, an analysis-oriented parametric modeling system of a turbine blade is constructed to test and verify the feasibility of the proposed modeling technology and system structure. Experiments show that analysis-oriented parametric modeling technology can make geometric models better adapt to the specific requirements of finite-element preprocessing and has certain reference value to the creation of high-quality digital models.
