Abstract :
We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a novel, practical algorithm for the measurement of multiple pumps evolution by using modified OTDR technique. With measured pump evolution profile and only one reference measurement data, the gain spectrum could be analytically calculated for any pump magnitude combination sets. The discrepancy between experimentally measured gain spectrum and calculated one was below 0.5 dB over entire gain bandwidth.
