Abstract :
Thick Ethernet is a common LAN technology. In order to decrease response time and reduce network traffic, in this paper, we identified and established the mathematical model and computer simulation model of thick Ethernet In addition, we developed a software system which can simulate thick Ethernet and display the simulation results. Simulation results show that the influence of the sending probability for both the collisions and the average waiting time must be considered in order to improve thick Ethernet performance. The application demonstrates that the systematic design method is effective and feasible.
