Abstract :
The authors suggest exact analytic formulations which allow numerical characterisation of the transient electromagnetic environment, during operation of circuit breakers or disconnectors, of a power transmission line. The proposed method is original because it takes variation with frequency of line parameters into account together with its series active losses. The method which is thus established with practically no simplifying hypotheses is extremely close to the measurements. Finally, its numerical performance (precision and CPU time) is better than that of previous methods
